    Retired, Dr. Alan H. Golden is a 1974 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center – University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1976.

    Initially working for another pediatric dental practice and teaching at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Golden opened his own practice in Dale City in July, 1979 and has practiced there since. In July of 1995, Dr. Golden opened an additional office in the Town of Dale City.

    Dr. Golden has been a Board Eligible Pediatric Dentist and Active Member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry since 1976 and has served on various committees over the last 25 years. Dr. Golden currently holds teaching positions in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical College of the Virginia School of Dentistry and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Golden is currently responsible for the dental education of Pediatric Residents at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children. Dr. Golden is currently on the medical staff of five area hospitals; Children’s Hospital in D.C., Inova Fairfax and Inova Fair Oaks Hospitals, Potomac Hospital, and Prince William Hospital. Dr. Golden is a member of numerous professional organizations and held many positions of responsibility among them.

    Dr. Golden has always worked, both within professional organizations and professionally, as an advocate for better patient care.

    “Dr. Al, the Kiddies’ Pal” has been a nickname given to Dr. Golden for over 25 years. Many thousands of patients later… the label still sticks, as many can attest to, even those now grown-up. “I’m lucky enough to have a profession where I can help people and a specialty that I truly love. I get to work with the most tender of patients, many of whom really need specialized help. I do my best to help them receive the optimum in dental care without the trauma that has scared so many of today’s adults. It has been a distinct pleasure to see so many of my patients grow up with happy, healthy smiles and the even greater honor of doing the same for their children.”
